LEVERAGING PHAGE TECHNOLOGY TO COMBAT SUPERBUGS
Phage bioinformatics, laboratory services and strain licensing from Finland.
A quick introduction to bacteriophages
Antibiotic resistance is a global threat
Bacterial infections are commonly treated with antibiotics.
Resistance against antibiotics is spreading fast and is one of the greatest threats to modern healthcare.
With bacteria evolving to outsmart our most powerful antibiotics, we need new strategies to combat the looming threat of untreatable infections.
Bacteriophages
An age-old solution to a new problem
In the early 20th century, scientists discovered a groundbreaking weapon in the battle against bacterial infections: bacteriophages, or phages for short. Phages are tiny viruses, programmed to seek out and destroy specific bacterial cells.
While forgotten for decades after the discovery of antibiotics, the growing crisis of antibiotic resistance is bringing phages back into the spotlight.
Why phages?
Harnessing billions of years of evolution
PrecisionPhage is making a difference in three key areas.

Bioinformatics
DNA is the source code of life and phages are no exception. By analysing phage genomes, we can optimise the efficiency and safety of phage therapy. To facilitate this crucial step, we have developed our own phage genome analysis software called Phagenomics.
Laboratory Services
Our state-of-the-art laboratory in Finland is equipped for handling any phage related tasks with world-class expertise. We can handle pathogens up to biosafety level 3.
Phage Licensing
Over the last decade, we have amassed a large collection of phages that infect the most common antibiotic resistant pathogens. At over 1,500 strains, our collection is unique. We can license these phages with exclusive or non-exclusive terms.
Meet the team
We are experienced academics and entrepreneurs with a shared passion for phages.
